On June 20, 2026, TYRMC attended the City of Toronto’s Indigenous Arts Festival as a vendor.
People were very interested in the colours and beauty of the sash, as it caught their eye. Council had discussions with many people about a variety of topics regarding Metis people.
Alicia Blore and the Tkaronto Metis Jiggers got people up jigging with their 3 workshops, along with some spoon playing.
There were many other workshops to attend and performances that covered First Nations, Metis and Inuit cultures.
It was a great way to celebrate the weekend of Indigenous Peoples Day. Thank you to the City of Toronto for including us in this special day!
