On Friday June 20th, 2025, the TYRMC celebrated the Summer Solstice with the AGA Khan and the Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre.

The MNO Summer Youth Program joined the TYRMC to teach kids about dot art and finger weaving.

Our MNO Summer Youth Program volunteers patiently taught the kids these valuable and historic art forms. Thank you Aidan Nault, Zach Nault, Aliya Dionne, and Lilliane Dionne!

The activities did not end there, with many more throughout the day including a hoop dance demonstration, storytelling and medicine wheel bracelets, to name a few. You can learn more about this year’s schedule: https://agakhanmuseum.org/whats-on/summer-solstice-2025/ and https://www.councilfire.ca/2025/06/13/3rd-summer-solstice-celebration-copy/.

Celebrating at the Aga Khan also gave us the opportunity to experience the #HopeAndHealingCanada installation by Métis artist Tracey-Mae Chambers. We look forward to joining the AGA Khan Summer Solstice Celebration again next year and hope that you can join us too!
