On Sunday, June 23rd, 2024 the Toronto and York Region Métis Council celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Month with a family day at the Toronto Zoo!

Held at the Conservation Clubhouse, the event featured Métis crafts & games.

We were also able to showcase our impressive collection of animal pelts, sharing knowledge on the importance of trapping & the fur trade to the Métis.

We did dot art with TYRMC artist Kathy Morgan, and even completed a scavenger hunt.

Pin the Sash on the Moose was a ton of fun, and lunch was provided by the Zoo Catering team. We particularly loved the after-lunch sweet treats. We can’t wait for our next event!
