On June 21, 2025, TYRMC joined the Oshawa Durham Region Métis Council to celebrate their 16th Métis Heritage Day! It was a great event that celebrated and honoured our rich Métis culture through music, dance, and food.

TYRMC President Amie Therrien and Senator Paul Irvine represented proudly, selling sashes, fire bags, and Métis branded items, while chatting with attendees and enjoying the music and culture.

The day included jigging, fiddling, crafts for the kids, painting, beading and axe throwing. TYRMC Senator Paul Irvine even joined in on the spoons for the Grand Opening!

We enjoyed tasty BeaverTails – a classic treat! Thank you to the Oshawa and Durham Regions Métis Council for putting this wonderful event together! We’ll see you next year!
