From Friday, February 21st to Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 the Toronto and York Region Métis Council held a Métis Rendezvous Weekend at Willowgrove Farm in Stouffville!

The event included incredible workshops, gatherings, and outdoor activities, and was fueled by the amazing Nookomis Kitchen.

We went tobogganing, snowshoed around beautiful Willowgrove Farm, and learned how to build a Quinzhee!

We visited the resident farm animals, explored with a Rendezvous scavenger hunt, and learned about the fur trade and traditional animal pelts such as the beaver, wolf, and arctic fox.

We learned how to do Métis flower beadwork, embroidery, and make our own healing salve.

We had music, dancing, and even a campfire with smores!

We were grateful to be able to share this experience with our community, learn new skills, and connect to the land. We can’t wait for next time!
