Following our community’s remarks, the Métis flag was raised to commemorate Louis Riel on the anniversary of his execution on November 16th, 1885.
Following the flag raising, guests were invited inside to the City Hall Rotunda to enjoy a catered pancake breakfast by Toronto’s Lazy Daisy’s Café.
The event included fiddling by Métis musician Alicia Blore, jigging by Métis dancers Teagan de Laronde and Megan Southwell, children’s crafts, and various educational displays.
We are grateful to have been able to commemorate Louis Riel with so many members of our community, and look forward to our next gathering!
