TYRMC Medicine Harvesting Workshop + Sacred Fire September 23 — 23, 2023 2:00pm—6:00pm 2SLGBTQIA+FamilyMenSeniorsWomenYouth Share Please join the TYRMC for a gathering at the community garden at Allan Gardens on Saturday Sept 23 from 2-6pm. We will come together to recognize and celebrate the week of Powley Day, and to marvel in the bounty of the garden. The plants have been thriving all summer long, including a variety of vegetables, and the Sage, Sweetgrass and Tobacco in our medicine garden. Earth worker Ethan Dankert-Lannigan will share knowledge about traditional medicines, and we will come together to harvest the Tobacco and hang it to dry in the conservatory. We will also make tobacco ties with the dried Tobacco from last summer. The gathering will include a sacred fire, tended to by traditional fire keeper Anthony Gladue. Snacks and refreshments will be provided for attendees. There is ample space to sit and chat with each other as well. The TYRMC community garden is located at the northwest corner of Allan Gardens, behind the children’s conservatory.
